Adva Center

Al-Beit Association for the Defence of Human Rights
Al-Beit Association for the Defence of Human Rights works to oppose Israeli apartheid policies and promote the right of equal housing and freedom of residence for Palestinian citizens of Israel. Al-Beit seeks to address the largely neglected, though persistent, violation by Israel of Article 10 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states: "Everyone had the right of freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state; Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his or her own, and to return to his or her country." Arab Association for Human Rights –
Arab Association for Human Rights (HRA) HRA works to promote and protect the political, economic, and cultural rights of the Palestinian Arab minority in Israel from an international human rights perspective. Association for Civil Rights in Israel –
The Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) was founded withthe goal of protecting human and civil rights in Israel and in the territories under Israeli control. ACRI roots its vision in the principles and rights articulated in the Declaration of Independence, and in the United Nation’s Universal Declaration on Human Rights. ACRI is Israel’s largest and leading human rights organization, and the only body to address the full range of human rights: from the right to liberty through freedom of information; from the right to education through freedom of expression. ACRI works to protect the right of diverse individuals and sectors of society including men and women, religious and secular, Jews and Arabs, those on the political right and left, new immigrants and veteran citizens, the unemployed, and foreign workers. Bimkom –
Bimkom - Planners for Planning Rights was established by planners and architects with the goal of strengthening the connection between human rights and spatial planning in Israel. Bimkom's point of departure is that spatial planning impacts on the community, society, and basic human rights. As a professional organization, Bimkom strives to achieve the right to equality and social justice in matters of planning, development, and the allocation of land resources, and assists communities and minorities affected by social and economic disadvantage and by civil rights' discriminations to exercise their rights in this area. Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development -
The Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development (CJAED) promotes regional economic development through cooperative projects among people in the Middle East. CJAED also aims to close the gaps between the Jewish and Arab sectors in Israel, thus building the foundation for sustainable economic development and peace. CJAED aims to provide Israeli Arabs with the necessary skills and advantages to capitalize on opportunities for development. Dukium Negev Coexistence Forum –
The Forum is unique in being the only Arab-Jewish coexistence organization that was created in the Negev and has remained focused on the Negev population and policies. Its aim is to provide a framework for Jewish-Arab collaborative efforts, in the struggle for equal rights and the advancement of mutual tolerance and co-existence. Web:

Givat Haviva –
Givat Haviva is an education, research and documentation center, located in the northern Sharon Valley (east of Hadera), Israel. Givat Haviva won the UNESCO PRIZE for Peace Education 2001 for its Jewish-Arab Center for Peace at Givat Haviva. The mission of Givat Haviva today is to cope with the major issues that are on the agenda of Israeli society, and to foster educational initiatives, research and community work in the fields of peace, democracy, coexistence, tolerance and social solidarity. The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) –
ICAHD is a non-violent, direct-action group originally established to oppose and resist Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses in the Occupied Territories. As our activists gained direct knowledge of the brutalities of the Occupation, we expanded our resistance activities to other areas - land expropriation, settlement expansion, by-pass road construction, policies of "closure" and "separation," the wholesale uprooting of fruit and olive trees and more. Ittijah –
Ittijah: The Union of Arab Community Based Associations is an umbrella organization for Arab non-governmental organizations working inside of Israel. Ittijah’s overall mission is to coordinate, foster and present the common strategies of its member organizations, working to end the political, legal, social, economic and cultural discrimination against Palestinians in Israel. Mossawa, The Advocacy Center for Arab Citizens in Israel –
The Mossawa Center works to promote equality for Arab\Palestinians within the borders of Israel. Mossawa utilizes advocacy methods to change the social and political status of Arab/Palestinians in Israel in an attempt to gain minority recognition and rights, without sacrificing their national and cultural rights as Palestinians. The activities that Mossawa implements focus on the empowerment of persons and organizations that cooperate to change the existing Palestinian situation. Web: www.mossawacenter.org

Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam –
Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam is a cooperative village of Jews and Palestinian Arabs of Israeli citizenship. Situated equidistant from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam was founded in 1972 on 100 acres of land leased from the adjacent Latrun Monastery. The members of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam are demonstrating the possibility of coexistence between Jews and Palestinians by developing a community based on mutual acceptance, respect and cooperation. Open House –
Open House is a home in Ramle, Israel, that was owned by a Palestinian family before 1948. It is now occupied by Dalia and Yehezkel Landau. This exceptional couple has devoted it (1) to provide educational and social opportunities to Arab children and their families, and (2) to be a center where Jews and Palestinians can meet one another, have joint activities, and forge friendships. Sikkuy: The Association for the Advancement of Equal Opportunity –

The Social Development Committee of Haifa
The Social Development Committee (SDC) evolved from a group of Haifa parents who organized to redress the lack of educational activities for Arab children to a registered NGO that occupies a central role in community affairs. Located in Wadi Nisnas, the heart of Arab society in Haifa, its finger is firmly on the pulse of community issues. SDC projects both address the consequences of systematic discrimination faced by the Arab community and empower the community to transcend its disadvantaged position. As an Arab organization, SDC strives for equality and justice for our community. As an Israeli organization, SDC strives to amplify the voice of the Arab minority within the democratic system. Web:
