Youth Cooperative Products Now on Sale Mosaic Communities new art instructor Yousef Salameh began work in January 2005, guiding the youth through a series of workshops designed to produce a body of artwork to be used in the production of greeting cards, posters, calendars and other graphic products. This project also gives the youth an opportunity to learn computer aided graphic design, internet marketing and other aspects of operating a fledgling business. The first batch of greeting cards produced are now on sale and over the next few months, as the body of artwork grows, additional product lines will be developed and offered for sale both within Israel and abroad. This new cooperative enterprise is intended to help make Mosaic Communities more financially independent in addition to empowering the youth of Ramle with new skills and opportunities. Funds generated from the sale of the graphic design products will be plowed back into the youth program and also used to finance trips for the youth. The Ramle MOSAIC HOUSE Youth program is supported by the New Israel Fund and the Mennonite Central Committee. The long term goal however is for the project to become self-sustaining. Below are the initial batch of Whimsical Greeting Cards developed by the youths. They are now on sale:
